안부...봄을 삼키는 소리

간 밤에 태평양을 건너온 봄에게 안부를 묻는다

"좀전에 어머니한테 전화왔었는데...아버지 소양병원으로 가셨나봐. 3개월정도 밖에 남질 않았다고."

그랬구나

나에게 찾아 온 봄은 하얀 팝콘처럼 한강 수변 따라 흐드러지게 피어난 벚꽃이 아니었구나

며칠째 햇살이 기웃거리며 선뜻 안부를 전하지 못한 것도

몸을 풀어야 할 화분들이 점점 얼어가던 이유도 하나였구나

일찍 꽃구경하러 떠난 친구들 보며 눈물 쏟아내신 어머니에게

아직 꽃망울도 해산하지 못한 베란다의 봄이 함께 위로를 보낸 것이다

I ask the spring that crossed the Pacific last night how it's doing,

The spring that came to me wasn't the cherry blossoms blooming like white popcorn along the Han River banks.

The hesitant sunshine that couldn't quite convey its greetings for days, and the potted plants gradually freezing, all had a reason.

To my mother, who shed tears watching friends leave early for flower viewing,

The spring on the balcony, whose buds haven't yet burst, sends its consolation.
