[고운 시] 마중나가는 시간 (Heading Out to Meet Time)

마중 나가는 시간

-고운(본명: 최치선)

지하철 3호선에 상처투성이 몸을 구겨넣고

하루를 온전히 배신한다.

어제의 결심이 회칠한 시체마냥

이름도 없이 버려지고

나는 또 과거로부터 내일의 시간을

빌려온다.

그렇게 하루를 연명하면

가스탕의 프로메테우스가 태양을 향해

두 날개를 태우고 나는 양초로 만든 욕망이

녹는 줄 알면서도 추락한다.

모두가 잠든 시간 사라진 욕망을 되찾기 위해

내일의 꿈을 대신하는 지하철3호선

그 속에 녹아버린 형체없는 두 날개가

거친 파열음을 내며 힘겹게 하차한다.

나는 이미 사라져버린 내 몸을 위해

오늘도 오지 않는 시간을 마중 나간다.

Heading Out to Meet Time

Cramped in the scar-riddled body of Subway Line 3,

I betray the day in its entirety.

Yesterday's resolution, like a whitewashed corpse,

is abandoned namelessly,

and I, once again, borrow tomorrow's time

from the past.

Living another day on borrowed time,

like Gaston's Prometheus, burning its wings

towards the sun,

my desires, made of wax candles,

melt, knowing yet falling.

In the time when all are asleep, to reclaim the vanished desires,

Subway Line 3, substituting for tomorrow's dreams,

melts away, its formless wings

disembarking with a harsh tearing sound.

For my body, already vanished,

I head out again today to meet the time that never comes.
