기다림은 사람을 지치게 만든다

나 역시 정해진 날 정해진 시간 정해진 장소에서

누군가를 기다리거나 편지를 기다리거나 전화를 기다린다

나는 기다림에 익숙하지 못하지만 대신 그보다 더 큰 환상을 기다리는 것은 익숙하다

사람들은 자신의 기다림에 대해 부풀리거나 화려한 과실로 치장하기를 반복한다

오지 않을 사람이나 오지 않을 편지나 오지 않을 전화나 모든 기다림들이

그들 자신에 의한 결과임을 인정하지 않는다

사람들은 내가 기다림을 자초했다는 사실에 대해 비난할 것이다

자연과 인간 사이에도 기다림은 존재한다

이순간 기다림은 나와 당신 사이에도 흐르고 있다

자연의 언어를 통역하는 바람에게도 기다림은 존재한다

허풍스럽거나 호사스럽거나 모든 기다림은 공평하다

유일한 이미지로 남아있는 거울만이 기다림을 피할뿐

거울 속의 나와 거울 밖의 나는 실제와 허상이 공존하는 유일한 대상이다

운좋게 인간의 형상으로 태어난 나는 거울 속이 아닌

거울 밖에서

어제에 이어 오늘도 누군가를 기다린다

I too, at a set day, a set time, a set place,

wait for someone, or a letter, or a call

I'm not accustomed to waiting, but instead, I'm used to waiting for a greater illusion

People often exaggerate their waiting, or adorn it with glamorous fruits

They refuse to accept that all their waiting,

for the person who won't come, the letter that won't arrive, the call that won't be made,

is a result of their own doing

People will blame me for initiating the wait

Even between nature and humans, waiting exists

At this moment, waiting flows between you and me

Even to the wind, which interprets the language of nature, waiting exists

Pretentious or luxurious, all waiting is equal

Only the mirror, remaining as the sole image, escapes waiting

Inside and outside the mirror, I am the only entity where reality and illusion coexist
