나무 인간

-고운(본명: 최치선)

잠깐 졸음이 찾아 왔을 때

포크레인이 내 서식처를 옮겨놓았다

그렇게 산에서 도시로 내려온 순간

바람도 따라 내려왔다

내 곁에서 말없이 위로가 되는 유일한 친구다

그러니까

지금 내가 보고 듣는 모든 게 낯설다

내 몸에서는 나프탈렌 냄새가 난다

누군가 매달아 놓았다

정체모를 약봉지가 바람을 타고 좌우로 흔들린다

크고 작은 불빛들이 꼬리를 물고 중앙선을 가로질러 한꺼번에 쏟아진다

이러다 내 눈도 발광을 하는 건 아닐까

바깥 생각에 빠져 있는 동안

안의 생각은 바람이 빠진다

허공에 핀 꽃들 각을 세우고 행간에 감춘 숨을 찾는다

다시 졸음이 엄습해 올 때

익숙한 소리들이 발꿈치를 들고 산에서 내려온다

When a brief doze came upon me,

A backhoe had relocated my habitat.

It was in that moment, descending from the mountain to the city,

The wind followed suit.

It stands by me, the sole silent comforter,

Thus,

Everything I see and hear now feels alien.

The scent of naphthalene emanates from my body,

Hung by someone, unbidden.

Mysterious packets of medicine sway left and right, carried by the wind,

Large and small lights cascade across the central line in a torrent.

Could it be that my eyes will start to emit light too?

Lost in thoughts of the outside,

The inside thoughts deflate.

Flowers pinned in the void take their angles, searching for the breath hidden between the lines.

When sleep's tide rises again,

Familiar sounds lift their heels, descending from the mountain.
